What does a blank canvas mean to you? Is it a
starting point? A problem to be solved? The source of your creative
inspiration? We see it as each of these things - and as an opportunity
to make an impact on a community in need. Our mission is to
inspire self-expression and impact communities through art.
Blank Canvas Artist Throwdowns were born to instigate and
inspire breakthroughs in one's personal longing to create.
For this Blank Canvas event we brought 8 of your favorite
restaurants/bars together to "throw it down!" The paintings
were produced in one day, in one place, as spontaneous and
collaborative works of art in the service of charity.
Following
the Throwdown was a cocktail party and charity auction. All
proceeds from the event were raised to benefit Farestart,
a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. FareStart provides
a community that successfully empowers men, women, and families
to create new opportunities through food service training,
life skills training, and job placement. FareStart is a non-profit,
501(c)(3) organization.
Blank Canvas is committed to connecting communities and
creating events that foster creative collaboration that makes
a difference. We pull our resources together with volunteers,
donations, and sponsorships to support charities and communities
in need. This event was intended to further the connection
between the local restaurant community and the mission of
FareStart; with an opportunity for everyone who participates
to support their cause.
